Welcome Geocachers!
The NorWest Ontario Geocachers is an informal group of geocaching enthusiasts from Northwest Ontario. We have members from across the north shore of Lake Superior, westward to the Manitoba border, hiding and seeking geocaches across the region.
In addition to social events and geocaching challenges, we encourage the hiding of quality caches and promote safe, fun and exciting geocaching through all of Northwest Ontario.
This website is our online home, where we like to hang out, plan our next hides, events, outings and challenges. It's also where we keep up-to-date on various topics related to geocaching, like the technology behind the hunt, sharing new outdoor recreation areas we discover and ways to make geocaching more fun for each other in Northwest Ontario. We hope you find us to be a friendly bunch, and make a place for yourself here as well.
Let the race begin! We have our first group of entries in the 2010-11 NWOG Geocoin/Tag Race making their wait out into the world today! Good luck to everyone who is taking part in the race.
For those looking to get in on the action there is still plenty of time to add your traveler to the race. All you need to do is click here and provide the travel number for your racer. Just remember to check out the rules section to ensure that you complying with all the requirements. Rules and details can be found here .Week 8 Update: A few more racers got started this week. It appears that Mechman’s racer is headed back to Alberta with Darnsocks (maybe they will pick another racer on their way through). It appears that H-K’s racer is the first to have going MIA…hopely it will show up soon. Until next week~CD
